Quick Study Portraits

Quick study drawings are anything but quick, but rather take some time to plan. Often referred to as continous line, or contour drawings, I find this technique to be one of the most fascinating styles that I prefer to use in my art. Largely inspired by TV Guide cover artists of the 70's, I learned to adapt myself to this unique and extremely pleasing style.

The idea is that the pencil or pen remains on the paper almost continously. 90% of the time, the tip is not lifted from the paper, but rather dragged across lightly to another spot in the drawing. The result is a highly satisfying artwork.
